鯛白湯らーめん ○de▽

Yes, much like the artist formerly known as Prince, this ramen shop’s name is made up of symbols. And though I can’t say I followed Prince’s career, I know he was a trend in the world of rock for some time, just like creamy ramen made with tai (鯛) sea bream is an ongoing trend in the world of Japanese ramen. So put on your favorite raspberry beret and check out this interesting shop.

Marudesankaku. The circle of the triangle? By the way, the shop’s name can be shortened to just Marusan, according to an official statement.

Don’t worry, I totally didn’t forget my wallet by the ticket machine.

The standard ramen with a smoked egg. I love it when ramen with my choice of toppings comes out to an even 1000 yen bill.

The taipaitan (鯛白湯) is made with only wild-caught sea bream and water, boiled for eight hours. Sous vide pork chashu and roasted sea bream add some protein on top, with homemade noodles hiding underneath. A lighter chintan style is available, as well as tsukemen and a sea bream rice bowl. It is a fun style. As I mentioned before, this is an ongoing trend in the world of ramen.

I saw a photo of the tsukemen, and it was served with dry ice underneath for a visual effect. Personally, I would never eat anything with dry ice in it, for fear of death, but you do you.

I didn’t notice until looking at the photo, but the menma is cut into circles and triangles. Cute touch.

The shop is part of the Silver Grape group. They run the wildly successful Zagin as well as the made-for-Instagram Franken and the made-for-Instagram Cheese Boba Tea place (google it, it’s a real thing).
