中華そば堀川

Horikawa was one of Tokyo’s top shops when it was open. Niboshi ramen is always welcome in Japan’s most significant metropolis. It suddenly closed in 2021, less than 2 years after they moved from Osaka to Jiyugaoka in Tokyo. As I was researching for this post, I found out the reasons for the abrupt closure. There was a police report (in Japanese here, here, and here) that the master abused one of his employees in the off-hours. Mr. Horikawa was arrested on November 30th, 2021 in regard to the assault. Chances of the shop, or the master getting back into the game seem slim.

I’ll keep these photos up, but I have no comment on the ramen.

There is another shop in the exact location called Dad’s Ramen (Dad’s Ramen 夢にでてきた中華そば). I will investigate.
