ソラノイロの桃 ARTISAN NOODLES

What in the name of all holy ramen is going on here?!?! Are those peaches?

You bet! Summer is peach season in Japan, and we get some excellent ripe fruits. These come from Yamanashi Prefecture, just west of Tokyo. The Nashi (梨) in Yamanashi actually means pear, but the prefecture is also very well known for its peach orchards as well.

Soranoiro is also known for their unique limited ramen bowls. The usual chukasoba and veggiesoba will have to wait for another day.

Peach ramen, a cold summer noodle dish, cost a whopping 2000 yen. This is more than double a normal bowl. I also got extra peach topping for an extra 500 yen. $25 for this bad boy.

Fun stuff, and I’m always happy to try these one-off limited summer bowls.

Specialty peach vinegar made in Yamanashi added even more peach to the mix. I assure you there were noodles in there somewhere.

Thinly sliced pork chashu, creme fraiche, and some little tiny tomatoes completed this bowl.
