チリトマラーメン THANK

Chili Tomato Ramen Thank is the third shop from the THANK group. Their original shop (鶏ポタラーメン THANK) is a crowd favorite with their thick chicken and vegetable potage soup, but can a rebranded spicy tomato version live up to their reputation? Absolutely. This is an off-the-wall bowl that delivers.

Ramen, two kinds of mazesoba, and tsukemen. And don’t forget their limited bowls. They are frequently spicing things up with ethnically-inspired ramen offerings.

We were here for a TV shoot with Ramen Walker, but I managed to snap a couple of shots for the website between takes.

Chicken ramen spiked with tomato and chili. This is Japan, so the chili spices are as mild as they come.

The chicken is roasted with cajun spices. Black garlic oil adds a bit of kick. If you notice, the noodles are green. They are made with moringa (モリンガ), a kind of superfood. Moringa is a plant in the wasabi family native to India. Its uses are all over the place, from a medicinal herb to a tasty snack.

We filmed this one with TV talent Meina Hibino (日比野芽奈), who now has her ramen-centric Instagram. Get it, girl!

During the shooting, I learned that they were doing a limited bowl of Israeli ramen. A couple of days later I came back to try it. Most of their limited bowls are inspired by foreign countries and their use of herbs and spices.

King David, your ramen is dang tasty. This one was actually called King David ramen. It was a collaboration between THANK and a restaurant in Israel. They developed the recipe over Zoom. Roasted chicken and a chickpea spiced soup. Fun stuff.

I also tried their red, white, and green mazesoba. It’s a great bowl. Cheese and that spiced chicken go great together.
