くじら食堂bazar 三鷹店

The Kujira Shokudo lineage is further continued at Kujira Shokudo Bazar in Mitaka, just a few stops from the original Kujira Shokudo in Higashi-Koganai.

And . . . they are closed. Apologies from Ramen Adventures for being extremely late with my posts. It looks like this outlet, despite winning a bunch of awards in its first year of operation, they are no longer in operation. The original shop is still there, but this Mitaka branch has slung its last noodle.

With the help of Google and some random blogs, I learned that they closed in December of 2021 with plans to open again in February of 2022. It’s now December 2022 and there is no word from the shop’s official Twitter. Too bad, this was a fun little shop in a ramen-heavy town along Tokyo’s Chuo Line.

The menu was all over the place, with limited bowls advertised on a whiteboard. I tried the standard shinasoba, but different versions of shio like a shrimp style were also there. Mazesoba, tsukemen, even an obscure Takeoka style from Okayama have a presence on Internet photos.

Decent shop in a good location. For my money, head to Sakurai if you are in the area.

Good luck to all the shops struggling out there.

Still reading? Did you know that I released a ramen cookbook? It’s available wherever fine cookbooks are sold, aka Amazon. Can’t wait to see what recipes you come up with!
