ラーメン荘 地球規模で考えろ

Oh heavenly junk ramen, how I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you!

Long story short, I was having a bad day. It involved a girl. I’ll leave it at that. I needed something to cheer me up. Something that is just pure goodness. Cheap fat and carbs that don’t taste cheap. I needed junk ramen. Chikyukibade Kangaeru had been on my list and it was a perfect time.

The shop serves Jiro-style ramen, both with and without soup. They also serve a limited junk bowl on occasion. Today’s limited came with a pickled plum.

The master told me the extra cheese topping I ordered doesn’t really match this one. I told him I wanted the visual. Besides, the whole thing gets mixed vigorously. Whatever toppings you have melt away into a mountain of sloppy noodles. Extra seabura back fat is a must.

Happiness. The plum added some sour to it, much in the way a splash of vinegar would. These pickled Japanese ume plums are supposed to help with digestion, but that’s kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. This bowl ain’t healthy.

Or maybe it is healthy. My bad day turned into a good one. I got nice and stinky from the garlic and went out with friends. We drank expensive booze with geisha, ate more food, and had a good laugh.

They say laughter is the best medicine, but I think it could be junk ramen.

Still reading? Did you know that I released a ramen cookbook? It’s available wherever fine cookbooks are sold, aka Amazon. Can’t wait to see what recipes you come up with!
