鶏そば十番 156 ICHIKORO麻布十番店

Ichikoro, located in the heart of fancy Azabujuban, is known for their creamy tori paitan. Creamy chicken soup with some aosa seaweed looked nice, but their soupless tantanmen looked nicer. Always go with your heart.

The menu has a few chicken styles. The paitan, a niboshi tsukemen, salty chicken mazesoba, and even stewed chicken curry. Then there is the outlier. Shrimp tantanmen. The shop’s name Ichikoro (イチコロ) means to be utterly defeated. Knocked down in a single punch. Beaten to the ground.

Tantanmen has that potential for me. Would this one be a KO?

It was a decent slurp.

The shop uses 18 different spices in their spicy tantanmen.

I scoured the internet (for a few minutes) to see if it was ground chicken on top, but couldn’t find anything. The connection with chicken shall remain a mystery.

Seems like a fun shop to jump into after work. The area is home to offices and music studios, the kinds of places with hard-drinking junk-eating dudes looking to let loose after a day in the office.

Just don’t get too ICHIKORO.
