Genraiken is one of the oldest and most famed ramen shops in Kitakata. The original shop master served his handmade noodles out of a street cart.

You can bet that the walls are adorned with famous people’s signatures.

As for the ramen, it is simple and hearty.  Many ramen enthusiasts give this shop a solid まま – normal ranking.  There isn’t much of an impact, but it is a good bowl that shows it’s roots.

The gyoza is handmade and almost every table had a plate.  But I was on a mission to eat more, so I gave them a miss.
