中村麺三郎商店

Nakamura Men Zaburo Shoten is one of Kanagawa’s top shops. Shoyu style with all the kodawari bits you ramen hunters love. To be honest, I love it too, this refined type of ramen, and welcome a trek out to any shop like this one.

By the way, I usually call a shop popular when their window is covered in accolades. We have a gold medal from Ramen Walker magazine, a spot on Japan’s East Tabelog 100, and multiple awards from Tokyo Ramen of the Year (TRY) magazine. That’s basically all of the awards.

Like many shops in the kodawari realm, their choice ingredients are on display. Six kinds of soy sauce are blended into the tare. Top-class chickens from Nagoya and Akita are boiled in the soup. Noodles are made in-house with care.

The shop’s name is in reference to the Master (Nakamura-san) being the third child (三郎) in his family. Simple!

Clear soups, thick soups, limited bowls. The menu is big at this one. I went with the recommended 特製醬油らぁ麺. Special shoyu ramen. Order what you want, but at this spot it’s practically a requirement to get your ramen with wontons.

I know it’s cliche, but I could eat this every day. The noodles make it a meal, but if it was just those wontons in that soup, I could stuff myself forever.

Master Kentaro Nakamura (中村健太郎さん) trained at Heichinro (聘珍楼), a Chinese restaurant in Yokohama with a 130-year history. As expected from someone who trained at a shop like this, his wontons are top level. After five years at Heichinro, Nakamura-san spent another five years at Toride, a popular ramen shop in Shibuya.

Definitely a must-hit shop for ramen nerds.

Though the location in Fuchinobe seems rather far, it’s only about an hour from central Tokyo.
